Think Before You Act: Learning about Self-Discipline and Self-Control.
Build Strong Character and Reading Skills
Think Before You Act teaches children about self-discipline and self-control. Children will identify with the choices that the book projects: choosing healthy vs junk food, avoiding a fight, finishing work, safety concerns, and wisely spending money are all covered in this 16 page book. These ideas may generate other areas of discussion that need self-discipline and self-control. While the colorful cartoon characters look like fun, the ideas are presented so that children will understand, and may spark questions and more mature thought that is necessary for children to consider. Cause and effect and why things happen play into the theme of this book. If combined with the Character Education CD, the book becomes read-along and sing-along complete with instrumental music to be played when quiet activities occur, reminding children of the important topics.
